Put in another day at work - this one was short and I had the honour of being able to sleep in (started at 8). I'm so glad to have the better part of the evening to myself - to be able to eat popcicles, listen to loud music, read some, and watch amazing sci-fi television. There was a point to me writing in this blog today, but I seem to have forgotten it. Oh well - maybe that was the point. I'm thinking of composing a long letter to my MP this summer. I sent him a form email from makepovertyhistory.ca (which everyone should visit and participate in) and he responded very briefly, saying my concerns were noted. I don't really by it. This guy, David Sweet, a conservative, has only ever been a businessmen (or the ceo of a fairly right wing christian men's organization.) I sincerely doubt that he can note my concerns, because I don't think he a) understands them fully, b) cares or c) does much actual work. Above all, he doesn't accuratly represent our riding - based on population, his support in the last election was 23%, and taking into account only those who voted, he received 39% of the vote. Bush got more than that in the 2004 election. Well, I am going to try to start a dialogue with my MP - I hope he will be receptive of my opinions and take them into account when he represents my riding in parliament.

in other news - I had a pretty good day, got a little sunburned, and am looking forward to returning to school (but not looking forward to saying goodbye to the summer)
